-Week 3-

I can’t believe that it is already the start of week 3, these weeks are flying by! I am still in shock at how easy it is to stick with a program and how effortless it feels when you have someone to do it with you and keep you motivated and on track!

I have been so proud of Anthony, and his hard work is paying off! Weigh-day was Sunday and the scale showed a 32lb loss since the last time he was at the doctors for a check-up! I knew that he was losing weight because I could tell.  His family even noticed it this weekend as well! He has really adapted to this new lifestyle and is willing to do whatever it takes to succeed (including turning down SUBS and eating them without the bread! NSV…for the win!) He even started to wear his new FitBit Blaze, and joined me in a few weekend and workweek challenges! Did I also tell you that he is running with me nightly?! Like I said I couldn’t be any prouder of him then I am right now :)

I lost almost 2lbs this past week, and I am totally okay with it! I worked my ass off for the entire week doing both my BeachBody on demand workouts and evening runs! I recently decided to take the cant and negative talk out of my workouts and to stop putting limits on myself. I completed a few REALLY tough workouts this past week and I did them with ZERO modifications. I even tried some that included plyo type moves! I am starting to see a HUGE difference in my endurance and overall body strength. Things that were once too hard to do I am now doing them AND finishing them! NSV was when I took a pic today and noticed that my baby quads are growing into teen quads…haha!

I seen the quote below in my iFit Book and decided to make it this week’s motto!

Hope everyone has a great and successful week! Keep going strong!

-Week Two-

Yesterday was weigh in, and today is the start of week TWO! I don’t really have a weight loss goal anymore, but it was nice to see that our hard work and efforts this past week paid off. We won’t know for sure till next week what Anthony’s weight loss has been (his first weigh in the scale wasn’t playing very nice!).

This week (and for the remainder of the year) we are going to be working on BALANCE, but not just in the context of food and fitness! In order to have a healthy life you need balance in all areas. That being said…we do have a few goals that we have set as individuals, a couple, and as a family. I promise to share them with you, but I can’t reveal all in ONE post {laughing}.

However, I do have some NSV’s from the past week that I would LOVE to share with you!

  1. We worked out as a couple 4 times!
  2. ALL our meals at home and dining out where on point! Anthony even ordered us sushi rolled in cucumber (low carb) vs sticky rice!
  3. We did our first big shopping trip of the year and bought 100% compliant food! Anthony learned to look at labels and paid close attention to ingredients!
  4. My jeans and recently purchased EMS pants are too big!

So excited to see what this week brings and all the changes to come!

Our Journey Together

{First Week}

As many of our close friends and family know (and thank you ALL for your support and motivation! :)) Anthony and I have started a new lifestyle of health and fitness TOGETHER!

Over the past year I have lost some weight and reached my weight loss goals, so I have been putting off starting this blog back up because I don’t want it to seem like I am bragging! But I wanted to start and share this new chapter in our life with my husband by my side, because before I started my own journey a few years back, I didn’t think I could lose the weight that I needed (and or wanted too). But now that I know that I can, and how to do it, I want to share this next adventure with you, if sharing how we are doing this helps just one person then it is totally worth putting our story out there :)!

Total to date…I have lost over 100lbs! It has not been an easy journey and I had many many ups and downs. I tried SO MANY diets, but I have never been good at anything too restrictive. So finally, last year I got serious about it, I made a commitment to run 3-5 times a week AND started a wonderful workout program. I learned how to cook with different (healthier) ingredients, about portion control, and most importantly I learned how to eat clean and fuel my body for energy without feeling deprived of anything. Once I figured out what worked for me the pounds literally melted off.

Fast forward to this year and new beginnings {smiles}, my husband has decided to join me in my new lifestyle {praise}! This is a total game changer for the BOTH of us. Up until this last week I did all my workouts on my own, and now Anthony is there right beside me, working out with me and pushing me beyond my limits. We are both eating healthy and clean, which means now I don’t have to stock the pantry and fridge with unhealthy foods that only temp me! I love that we are now doing this together because we are BOTH setting an example for our boys that will last a lifetime!

This first week has gone really really well, and I am so proud of Anthony for the changes that he has chosen to make! Below are some of our photos from the 1st week of our new journey together! I promise to be back soon and update as we progress TOGETHER!
